HideTheAI version 1.0.0
Need help getting HideTheAI working? Start with the steps below. If the problem continues, email us or open a public bug report.
Install HideTheAI
- Download and unzip the HideTheAI extension.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin Chrome. - Enable Developer mode.
- Select Load unpacked and choose the unzipped extension folder.
- Pin HideTheAI from Chrome's extensions menu.
Update or reload the extension
After replacing the extension files with a newer version, open
chrome://extensions and select Reload on
the HideTheAI card. Refresh any Google or supported media-site tabs
that were already open.
Google searches are not changing
- Open the HideTheAI toolbar popup and confirm a search mode is selected.
- Use a supported Google domain listed in the extension permissions.
- Explicit tabs such as Images, News, Videos, and Shopping are intentionally preserved.
- Reload the extension and refresh the Google tab.
Blocked results are still visible
- Confirm Enable search result hiding is on.
- Check that the relevant filter category is enabled.
- Add a domain under Custom domains when it is not part of a built-in category.
- Google changes its result-page markup regularly, so newly changed layouts may require an extension update.
AI assets are still visible on a supported site
- Confirm On supported asset sites: hide AI assets is on.
- Refresh the page after changing the setting.
- Some sites are filtered only when they expose a native non-AI control or a visible AI label.

HideTheAI processes supported pages locally and does not send search queries, browsing activity, or extension settings to the developer. Read the complete privacy policy.
